Long Iron Bridge is the name of a steel bridge over the Nieuwe Haven in Dordrecht. The bridge was designed in 1855 by G.N.Itz (city architect of Dordrecht 1832-1867), and served to replace a 40-metre-long wooden bridge. The Long Iron Bridge is a slender bridge consisting of two fixed bridge sections of 25 metres each. In the middle of the harbour, a movable section is constructed as a double bascule bridge. The bridge has a total length of 60 m and is 2.8 m wide. In 2005, the bridge was restored.
