In the barren polder near Drunen, one tree stands alone in an empty meadow. It is winter. The ground is bare, perhaps slightly frozen. The sky behind the tree slowly turns shades of orange and red as the sun rises.
There is nothing else. No fog, no birds, no other trees. Just that one silhouette, tight against the coloured sky. The image is simple, but powerful precisely because of that - the contrast between the dark silhouette and the warm light behind it makes it almost abstract.
What struck me was the stillness and balance in the image. Nothing distracts. The tree just stands there, firm and still, like an anchor point in the open landscape.
Would this image suit you - as a quiet eye-catcher with colour and simplicity?
