The Klein Matterhorn is a 3883 m high mountain in the Valais Alps. It marks the western end of the mountain range stretching from Monte Rosa towards the Theodul Pass and is separated from the Matterhorn by the Theodul Pass. Since 23 December 1979, the Klein Matterhorn can be reached by a cable car from Zermatt via the intermediate station called Trockener Steg (2930 m). From the mountain station (at 3820 m, the highest mountain station in Europe), a tunnel leads to the glacier plateau to the south and thus to the ski area. In the middle of the tunnel, a passenger lift and stairs lead to the actual summit (3883 m). On the viewing platform there, you have an enormous view and a 360° panorama of the surrounding peaks of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps.
