About ‘Little Indian Window’ by Caroline Boogaard
A small window in the streetscape of Jodhpur, the blue city in Rajasthan, India. A large part of this city is painted blue. It is thought that the blue color stops mosquitoes. Traditionally, a blue painted house was signs that the inhabitants belonged to the caste of the Brahmins.

I like to make multi-layered photographic work. By combining several photos in one image a new reality is created with often intense colours and new perspectives. The places where I collect the ingredients for the photographic work are places that at first don't look very attractive. That's what makes it so much fun for me - looking closely at 'hidden beauty' that sometimes only comes to the fore when the images are mixed.
