Lily (Lilium) is a genus of herbaceous plants belonging to the lily family. The genus has more than one hundred species, most of which occur in the Northern Hemisphere. The plants in the genus are known primarily as garden plants. Some species have edible bulbs, which are traditionally grown as food in China, for example[1]. For some pets, especially cats, even small amounts of plant material can be deadly[2].
The species in the genus Lilium are known as the true lilies. Among other things, they serve as food for the larvae of moths and butterflies from the order Lepidoptera. source wikipedia
