Lighthouse De Ven
is a white square brick lighthouse on the IJsselmeerdijk in the village of Oosterdijk, about four kilometres from Enkhuizen. The tower was built in 1699-1700 and is therefore one of the oldest lighthouses in the Netherlands. The tower has a height of 15 metres and the light height is 17 metres. Above the entrance there is a cartouche with the names of the founders. On a clear day, the lighthouse is clearly visible from the Enkhuizen-Lelystad dike. The tower is one of three light stands that were built to indicate the route from the Wadden Sea to Amsterdam.
