The Namib desert is known for its endless plains of red sand dunes.
During sunset the light from the sun falls on one side of the sand dune. The other side is hidden in the shadow. This gives a nice contrast between the warm red sand and the cool shadow side. The trees and the oryx add an extra layering to the photo.
