Rheum palmatum, a perennial ornamental rhubarb with very large decorative leaves. In spring it really pops out of the ground, the beautiful leaves on top green and the underside dark red are a sight to behold. Unfortunately, it is susceptible to strong winds and that's how I got this unfortunately broken-off leaf. Upside down in the wheelbarrow, the leaf was not only beautiful in colour and wonderful in texture, the veins the 'veins' of the leaf were also of a touching beauty. The life of this leaf has sadly come to an end. But nature always produces new leaves during a sufficiently humid summer. A season of enjoying nature's beauty.
