About the artwork

This black-and-white photograph shows a night scene at an illuminated petrol station, creating an atmosphere of silence and mystery. The photo was taken from darkness, making the petrol station appear as a brightly lit island in the night.

In the centre of the image is a large white truck, whose headlights are on. To the right of the truck, petrol pumps and a sign with prices can be seen. The lighting under the canopy is bright and emphasises the architecture of the petrol station.

On the left side of the picture is a shop, also brightly lit. At the entrance to the kiosk, a person sits on the ground. Next to it, more towards the centre, are two figures facing away from the viewer. The clothing of these figures is striking, attracting attention.

The title of the file, may suggest that the scene is set in the United States and depicts an aspect of life there, perhaps the loneliness of the road or the night. The contrast between the bright light of the petrol station and the deep darkness around it is a striking feature of the picture.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
