Autumn colors on an early morning at Lichtenstein Castle, a castle built from 1840 to 1842 in neo-Gothic style, located in the Swabian Jura of southern Germany.
It overlooks the Echaz Valley near Honau, Reutlingen in the state of Baden-Württemberg.
The castle lies on the Albtrauf, the steep northwestern side of the Swabian Alb, at an altitude of 817 meters above the 250-meter lower valley of the Echaz, a small tributary of the Neckar. About 500 meters southeast of the castle are the remains of the ruins of the medieval castle Alt-Lichtenstein ("Alter Lichtenstein").
