Autumn reflections on the Old Singel
This enchanting photograph captures the splendour of autumn in Leiden, where the Oude Singel provides a picturesque backdrop for a symphony of colours and reflections. Two majestic trees with leaves in brilliant autumn hues adorn the banks, their reflection dancing on the calm water of the canal.
At the centre of the composition, six stately canal houses are perfectly reflected, creating an impeccable symmetry. The autumnal palette of reds, browns and golds is enhanced by the warm glow of the street lamps already on. This reflection of colours and architecture in the calm water creates a visual feast and enhances the serene beauty of this historic location.
A few leaves float quietly in the canal, a subtle reminder of the passage of time. This photo is a timeless tribute to the harmony between nature and Leiden's urban splendour during the magical season of autumn.
