About the artwork

According to tradition, Placidus was a general in the Roman army of Trajan, but converted to Christianity after a hunting party in which he had seen a glowing cross in the antlers of a deer. After his conversion he adopted the name Eustachius. Because he was canonized he is also known as St. Eustachius.

When it became known that Eustachius had become a Christian, he was dispossessed in imitation of Job have and good, and his wife and children were arrested. As a general, however, Emperor Trajan called him back to defend the city against the barbarians. When Eustachius and his family refuse to thank the gods after the victory won, Trajan's successor Hadrian ignites them in anger, throws them in front of the lions and has them boil in a bronze cauldron.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
