About ‘Leaving the field, Edgar Degas - 19th century’
La Sortie Du Pesage was stolen from Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston in 1990 and nothing has been heard of it since.
Hilaire Germain Edgar Degas was a French Impressionist painter and sculptor. Made famous as a painter and draughtsman under Impressionism, he spent his last years of life as a sculptor, due to his deteriorating eyesight. Degas was not a pure impressionist.
