Tips for use

About ‘Late summer at the Wismar Bridge House’ by Holger Felix

One of Wismar’s historic landmarks is the Brückenhaus, also known as the Gewölbe. It is situated on the edge of the old town, on the border with the Old Harbour. The Gewölbe is first mentioned in archives as early as 1406. Resting on two large barrel vaults, the half-timbered house stands above the Grube, one of the oldest man-made watercourses in northern Germany. Originally, the Gewölbe formed part of the former city wall or fortifications.
The photograph shows a late-summer view from Wismar’s Ziegenmarkt towards the Gewölbe, looking over colourful flower pots and framed by the already autumnal foliage of the surrounding trees.

Holger Felix, born 1959, photographer from Wismar, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. I have been taking pictures since I was seven years old. I started with a simple roll film camera in b/w, model Pouva Start from 1952. In my late youth I got my first analog SLR camera. Today I am using products from Canon.
