A wooden pole, painted brown with carboleum. On top of it were some porcelain insulators to protect the overhead electricity wires from short-circuiting. On top of the pole was a zinc thank-you hat to protect it. That's how it used to be in the Netherlands. And also so in beautiful Limburg. A beautiful timeless landscape more reminiscent of Italy than of the South Limburg Hill Country.
