This digital work began with a scan of an old landline cable I had found in my office. I still have a landline and its significance for communication, especially during a power outage, can't be overstated when one does not have cellphone cover. However, when I made this work, in the wake of Storm Eowyn after power was finally restored, the landline was dead too.
Abstract patterns of varying shades of slate blue intertwine, creating a complex and layered monochrome composition. Broad brushstrokes overlap with subtle vertical and horizontal streaks, adding depth and movement.
