Landing Atlas Air Boeing 747-8 at Schiphol Airport, registration: N856GT. A picture of this same aircraft can also be found in my shop but in British Airways World Cargo colours. Back then, the aircraft had G-GSSD as its registration. That photo is dated 16 March 2014. In early 2023, the very last Boeing 747 left Boeing's manufacturing facility. The aircraft is destined for Atlas Air.
The Boeing 747 entered the market in the late 1960s and was a groundbreaking aircraft at the time, making flying accessible to a wide audience. A total of 1,574 were built since 1967. In the Netherlands, the type flew for decades with KLM and Martinair, where it was loved by passengers and staff. This photo, showing the aircraft in Atlas Air colours, was taken on 11 August 2019.
