The Lamborghini Countach (1974-1990) is a true symbol of speed and design. In the 1970s, it revolutionised the automotive world with its futuristic, sharp look and striking gullwing doors. Today, one would think that it anticipated the stealth look with its sloping surfaces.
The name "Countach" comes from the Piedmontese dialect and means something like "Wow!" or "Incredible!". A young car enthusiast dreamed of driving a Countach one day. Years later, on one occasion, he was actually allowed to sit behind the wheel. The feeling of the powerful V12 engine was indescribable. The bright red design, the aggressive lines and the unmistakable roar of the engine made the moment unforgettable. The Countach was more than just a car; it was a status symbol, a dream on wheels. To this day, it is considered an icon of automotive history and inspires generations of car enthusiasts worldwide.
The picture shows a Lamborghini Countach LP 5000S QV with 335 kW (455 hp). The V12 engine remained the same for all sub-series, but with different outputs. The huge rear spoiler was only added to the Countach LP 500S in 1982. A total of around 2000 Countachs were built between 1974 and 1990, spread over five series.
