At 2501.9 metres above sea level, the Säntis is the highest mountain in the Alpstein and is by no means as often and clearly visible as many tourists and locals might think. And you may well find that the mountain is occasionally covered in fresh snow, even in summer.
This photo was taken in winter with the view from the Friedrichshafen shore. This marvellous band of mist over the Swiss shore also only comes into view a few times a year. In addition, an azure blue sky with an unobstructed and above all clear view of the Säntis is extremely rare to see on the Swabian Sea.
