A girl is playing outside in a flower field, with an arable landscape in the background. On a hot summer day, with a thunderstorm coming. An image from the past that immediately evokes the atmosphere and warmth of the 1950s.
I collect original photography, various papers, acrylic, oil, charcoal, ink and pencil in my works. The creative goal of my work is to “turn the dilapidated state into something beautiful”. My tableaux explore the dissonance between old and new materials, intertwined in the most beautiful way to create dreamy and melancholic images.
I remembered that as a young girl I so much liked to cut images from magazines to paste them into school agendas, scrapbooks and even on my bedroom door. Add to this the fascination I always had for walls filled with old posters, flaking paint, scrappy billboards.. Read more…
