On the outskirts of the Groningen village of Midwolda is the Ennemaborg estate, a place where nature and history merge. On a soft autumn day, the forest fills with warm light and golden hues. The trees bear their last leaves, while the low sunlight falls through the canopy and sets the path in an almost enchanted glow.
Amid this calm, the konik horses move slowly through the landscape. Their grey coats contrast subtly with the rich colour palette of autumn. They graze, look up, and then silently move further into the forest - as if they were merging with nature itself.
This photo captures that quiet moment just before sunset, when the light softens and everything seems to stand still for a moment. It is an ode to the simplicity and beauty of Dutch nature, to the interplay of animal, light and landscape.
An image that reminds us of peace, space and the rhythm of the seasons - and that invites us to stop and take a breath.
