About ‘Koeien in de mist - Aarlanderveen, Nederland’ by Wim Goedhart

The Dried Polder on the west side of Aarlanderveen is a former water board in the province of Zuid-Holland in the municipality of Aarlanderveen (after 1918 Alphen aan den Rijn).

The water board was responsible for the dredging, dripping (ready in 1788) and the water management in the same-name polder.

The mills of the Molenviergang Aarlanderveen still painted the polder area entirely on wind power. This is an unprecedented course of business.

De Drooggemaakte Polder aan de westzijde van Aarlanderveen is een voormalig waterschap in de provincie Zuid-Holland in de gemeente Aarlanderveen (na 1918 Alphen aan den Rijn).
Het waterschap was verantwoordelijk voor de vervening, drooglegging (gereed in 1788) en de waterhuishouding in de gelijknamige polder.

De molens van de Molenviergang Aarlanderveen bemalen het poldergebied nog steeds geheel op windkracht. Dit is een inmiddels unieke gang van zaken.
