Kleve (Kleverlands: Kleff, German: Kleve) is a municipality and capital of Kreis Kleve in the west of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, ten kilometres south of the river Rhine in the Lower Rhine Lowlands.
Pieter Schenk (II) (Amsterdam, February 15, 1693 - January 14, 1775) was a Dutch-German engraver and mapmaker, who worked primarily in Amsterdam and in the German city of Leipzig. Pieter Schenk the younger was the son of Pieter Schenk the elder, who was originally a German engraver and cartographer. In 1731, he lived in the Warmoesstraat in Amsterdam. Pieter Schenk II died in 1775 and was buried in a building on Kalverstraat. Schenk is primarily known as the maker of Saxon maps and city plans.
