Kiyomizu-dera (the Clear Water Temple) is an ancient wooden Buddhist temple in the Japanese city of Kyoto.

The temple was founded in the 8th century by a priest named Enchin. At the foot of the rocks on which the temple is built, a spring rises. Hence the name "Clear Water" temple.
