Not Johannes Vermeer's innocent Girl with a Pearl Earring, but an abstract painting of a feisty woman, a girl of pleasure, kinky and confident and at the same time withdrawn and into herself. A delightful combination of woman and mistress, sensuality and aloofness, feminine and tough, calm and tension, recognition and alienation, defiant and innocent, euphoria and sadness.
This collection was created from playful experimentation with collage techniques and painting techniques in a digital image processing. The girl, the pearls in her earrings, the gold chain in her side, the beautiful colour old pink that coincides with ochre yellow in a bold combination with black. Light shades of blue adding to the playfulness. Honestly, of all the work in my shop, this is my absolute favourite. Wonderfully playful, a little naughty, in a beautiful colour combination.
The painterly techniques and a light texture applied over this collage bring unity to this painting.
Greying colours with old pink, black and ochre in the lead create a soft, yet bold look in your interior.
