Kingfisher in the Snow - A Modern Homage to Ohara Koson by Studio Pieternel

Exclusive design for Werk aan de Muur / Art Heroes

Bring the hushed beauty of winter into your home with this unique artwork: a contemporary digital adaptation of the world-famous woodcut 'Kingfisher in the Snow' by Japanese master Ohara Koson.

This work combines the timeless elegance of the Shin-hanga movement with the sophistication of modern digital painting.

At the centre of this work is the kingfisher, a symbol of patience and colourful vitality. The contrast between the bird's vibrant turquoise and deep orange plumage and the soft, icy background of snow and reeds creates a powerful visual dynamic. The background has been manipulated with artistic precision, creating a dreamy, almost abstract snowy landscape that exudes tranquillity and serenity.

This piece fits perfectly into a variety of interior styles. Whether you have a minimalist, modern interior or want to create an atmosphere of classic warmth; the kingfisher brings a natural accent and a touch of oriental mysticism to the wall. The colour palette of cool blue, soft grey and warm earth tones makes it a versatile piece for the living room, bedroom or an inspiring workplace.

Choose a timeless classic in a new look and get a real 'statement piece' in your home with this Japanese nature art.
