During a work visit in the Ardennes, I discover this young male - his legs are not yet fully coloured orange - kingfisher. The landscape sleeps under a blanket of snow and the rocky wall of the bank is mainly coloured white, a single rock has retained its grey colour (a little). Two days later, I am there again, but this time with the hide and camera. Temperatures remain below zero, but since this spot is one of the few places that is ice-free, the kingfisher must come here to fish, so to speak. Less than an hour after my arrival, he is there again and he will visit several more times that day. The mossy and snowy branch he is sitting on and the snowy background create a minimalist atmosphere where all attention is sucked towards this kingfisher.
