About ‘Kingfisher - Shake it off’ by Kingfisher.photo - Corné van Oosterhout
Not every dive by a kingfisher is a hit, especially in winter, when fish seek the warmer water layers in the depths and they have to dive deeper.
After diving, they then often show 'displacement behaviour' they briefly shake the feathers dry and sometimes make a noise out of frustration.
I was reminded of this behaviour…
