in the largest National Park in the United States - the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park - is the Kennicott Copper Mine. The mine was operational between 1911 and 1938 and at that time almost $200 million worth of copper was excavated. The remains of the mine are now a National Historic Landmark. The Kennicott Glacier is still visible in the background.
