Keeper of the nest
Full of wonder, the hen looks at that huge egg.
It was with a lot of pleasure that I took this picture. Just the preparation alone was a lot of fun!
The idea came from the branch I got from the neighbour a while ago. He came to bring us wood for the fireplace and it included this beautiful branch.
We had to make a nice photo with that!
I made the bird's nest myself. An hour of creative fretting. I used twigs and old grass stems and some moss to make a real bird's nest.
The big egg I happened to come across a week later during a weekend trip. I cannot walk past a thrift shop and there in Elburg was a very cute little shop full of old stuff ánd this beautiful egg! So perfect for this photo.
And then mn Kippie.... Unsuspecting, she was walking through the meadow and came running towards me for some treats.
But today things were different, she had to come with me to the studio.
She found that a bit strange. A bit uncomfortably, she tried to find her balance on the branch, which turned out to be quite a job!
But with some patience and encouraging words, she relaxed and started enjoying herself. Cheekily, she started walking across the branch and looked around to see what was happening. What was that huge egg doing there?
And then that tasty juicy snail....
A joy to take this picture from start to finish!
