The city bridge (IJsselbrug) over the IJssel River in the Hanseatic city of Kampen. The four golden wheels color beautifully when photographed in the blue hour. The full-length balustrade of the bridge is also illuminated.
The city bridge in Kampen forms the connection across the IJssel River between the territories of this Dutch municipality.
The blue hour is a period when the sky takes on a bright blue color during twilight. It occurs during the transition between daylight and night (or vice versa). So in the morning it is the period before sunrise and in the evening it is the period after sunset. After sunset, the sky often first turns bright blue before it turns dark (black).
This blue color after sunset, or in the early morning, is often visible briefly. But in the photograph, the color is enhanced.
