Mata Hari must have been of staggering beauty. At least in this watercolour-like, digital and colourful adaptation of an old black and white photograph.
We see her in an outfit reminiscent of roaring twenties nightclubs, with an ostrich feather in her hair and a fur coat that has been opened to almost reveal her cleavage.
The kaleidoscopic background underscores the festive nature and places her at the center of attention. A beauty -- now also in art.
Although working as a lyrical chronicler, sometimes I see things that are not there; I photograph and edit them.
