The phasing out of the Boeing 747-400 Jumbo jet at KLM will be completed by the end of 2020. What many people don't know is that only 5 aircraft in the KLM 747 fleet were full passenger jets. Behind the kitchen and toilets of the passenger section is a door to the cargo section.
The combis had to leave the fleet partly due to new legislation in the US. There, cargo may no longer be transported behind the passenger compartment. The KLM combis flew mainly to the US.
