Just landed on a bearded carnation (Dianthus barbatus) for a nectar break by Studio Mirabelle

This piece began with a photograph I took in my own garden, where a brimstone butterfly alighted on a bearded carnation (Dianthus barbatus). It was a brief but striking moment: the fresh colours of the flowers, the soft morning light and a butterfly that lingered for a moment before flying off again. That image formed the basis for this digital edit.

During post-processing, I transformed the photograph into a serene, modern composition whilst retaining its natural atmosphere. The background has been deliberately kept soft so that the brimstone butterfly stands out clearly. The combination of green tones, pink flowers and the bright yellow wings creates a vivid colour contrast that makes the subject instantly recognisable. The digital editing gives the whole image a refined look, without making it appear as though it has been painted.

This artwork demonstrates just how special small moments in nature can be in a garden. It is ideal for lovers of butterflies, gardens and digital photographic art, in which photography and editing combine to create a new, tranquil image.
