Located south of the Vatnajökull glacier, between the national park Skaftafell and the town of Höfn, Jökulsárlón is Iceland's most famous and largest glacial lake. In the lake, white, light blue and icebergs coloured grey and black by volcanic dust float around. They have the most flared shapes. At around 200 metres deep, Jökulsárlón is currently the second deepest lake in the country. It formed in the years 1934-1935 and got bigger and bigger.
