About ‘Jerash in Jordan’ by Antwan Janssen
The destroyed city of Jerash is considered one of the most important and interesting Greco-Roman-Byzantine cities in the Middle East. The city was also part of Dekapolis, a ten-city league in Syria. The remains of its imposing city gates, colonnades, temples and theatres clearly show that this was an important imperial centre.

I am Antwan Janssen, travel and nature photographer from Uden. During my many travels on this globe I try to capture all the beauty on photo. As you can see on this site my preference goes to landscapes, wildlife but also to the local population, mostly abroad but certainly also in our beautiful Netherlands. In recent years, several of my photos have won awards in both national and international photo competitions.
