Jedburgh Abbey in Scotland. Jedburgh Abbey is a twelfth and vroegdertiende century Augustinian abbey in Jedburgh in the Scottish region of Scottish Borders. The abbey in 1138 by King David I and Bishop John of Glasgow founded as a priory. As of 1296, there were, by the poor English-Scottish relations governed robberies at the abbey. In the period 1540-1550 has started the ruin of the abbey, aided by the Reformation in 1560. Only the (now homeless) church building is still standing because it was used until 1875 as a parish church.
