In the remote north-east of Uganda lies Kidepo Valley National Park, a rugged and untouched landscape of grassy plains, acacia trees and rocky hills. Here lives the jackal, an intelligent and agile hunter perfectly adapted to the dry savannah climate. You often see it in the early morning or at sunset, when the light gently glides over the grass and the silence is broken by the calls of birds and the rustle of wind.
The jackal hunts alone or in pairs, looking for small prey or remains of larger animals. Its keen senses and cunning nature make it a master of survival in a harsh but beautiful landscape.
This photo collection brings to life the atmosphere of Kidepo: the vastness of the savannah, the play of light and shadow, and the alertness of the jackal moving among grass and dust. An ode to Uganda's pristine wilderness and to an animal that symbolises adaptability, elegance and stillness in motion.
