The Ferrari 412P was the customer version of the 330P4. These customer cars, used by the North American Racing Team, Scuderia Filipinetti and Maranello Concessionaires, differed from the works car in two key details. While the 330P4 already had a five-speed gearbox developed by Ferrari, the old, highly sensitive ZF gearbox was still used in the 412P. Although the gearbox was fitted with an additional oil cooler, it was still a frequent cause of faults in 1967. The V12 engine produced 410 hp, around 40 hp less than the unit in the factory car.
