In Frisian Opsterland, near Beetsterzwaag, you can find some very different forests. Small patches, but very diverse. What used to start as a production forest is now gradually turning into a natural forest. This is a vista in the Wallebos, at the beginning of spring 2023. The drab grey winter season is winding down and the longer you look the more you discover that spring is already well underway. The longer you look, the greener it gets. But cold it was still quite cold. I was standing here on the Sunday morning of 23 March 2023. Summer time had started last night, but a thick coat was still needed. In a few weeks, I'm sure it will be even greener here. If I have time, I'll come back then.
