Intimate profile portrait of a red fox by Alex Pansier

This work shows a powerful and razor-sharp close-up of a red fox, captured in a tight profile. The photograph invites you to take a very close look at nature: you can count almost every hair. From the deep rust-brown and orange tones in the fur to the fine white hairs around the muzzle and the long, dark whiskers. The focus is beautifully on the bright, amber-coloured eye that looks with concentration to the right.

The inspiration for this image comes from a fascination with the fox's intelligence and adaptability. An encounter with a fox always feels like a gift, and with this portrait, that fleeting moment is frozen in time. A calm composition was chosen, with the background completely faded to a soft, grey-brown haze. As a result, the viewer is not distracted by the surroundings, but all attention goes to the animal's elegant features and intense gaze. What does he see? Prey, or just a rustling leaf?

This artwork brings a strong personality to the space. It evokes a sense of wild nature, but the soft light and cuddly texture make it feel warm at the same time. In an interior, this portrait works great as an eye-catcher. The warm orange and brown tones instantly add atmosphere to a living room. The work looks great in a tough, industrial interior as a contrast, but the natural subject matter also fits perfectly in a rural or bohemian living style.
