This work shows the interior of the Oude Kerk in Delft. famous Dutchmen are buried in the church, including Piet Hein, Maarten Tromp and the painter Johannes Vermeer.
Delft is best known for the fact that William of Orange resided there from 1572 and was murdered there in 1584. Since then, the royal family has traditionally been interred in Delft's Nieuwe Kerk. Delft's nickname is the City of Princes.
