A view inside the town walls Panicale, Umbria in Italy. A walled medieval town, the streets inside the walls are narrow and many have these bridges or rooms built over the road with an archway underneath. Some of the archways are decorative or maybe to brace buildings. Some are functional, as the one in the middle here can be clearly seen to contain a room as there is a window with a window shutter. The one in the distance also has rooms above it. In this photo art image there is such a mixture of architecture, ranging from stone built to rendered and red brick. But this is a typical street that you will find inside one of these old Italian walled towns.
