This image with the red salmon as inspiration refers to the far North, Finnish Lapland, which was my inspiration when I made this trip. I hoped to depict the peace and space found in Finnish Lapland, but also the abundance of summer, the light, the colours, the importance of waterways and lakes in culture.
The title came about because I also took an inner journey there, the silence, the reflection of nature to my personal soul, my personal environment
The sculpture fits perfectly in peaceful surroundings, its vibrancy and rich colours a nice accent for white spaces. But of course the sculpture also fits in colourful surroundings.
It fits perfectly in the bedroom, the living room or an open kitchen. And how about an office space?
I am a Dutch illustrator, lived in Belgium until 1999, after which I moved to Finland with my Belgian husband. Now I am also a mother of 3 children and she inspired me, as a free artist, to take this more applied path. I already illustrated.. Read more…
