About "Indian woman in colourful sari"

by Peggy van Veghel

About the artwork

An Indian woman, enveloped in a sari of shades of red, in a moment of contemplation and serenity, in which her presence radiates both strength and tenderness.
Every piece of jewellery, every necklace carries stories and memories, passed down through generations. They are a living history, a testament of love, tradition and legacy, worn with pride and love.
On her forehead is a dark red bindi, a powerful symbol of her inner strength and wisdom, a sign of her deep connection to her culture and spirituality.

Her eyes, large and full, gaze at the horizon, as if she is sunk in deep meditation. She seems to be absorbed in thoughts, perhaps longing for a lost era or for a loved one far away. Her gaze, though melancholic, is also hopeful, as if she believes in her heart that anything is possible, even in the vast and sometimes elusive environment of hectic Delhi.
