The day begins tentatively over Koh Ngai. The first rays of sunlight graze the dormant longtail boat, which lies at an angle in the damp sand at low tide. The pha phra flutter at the bow of the boat - colourful fabric ribbons that the fishermen use as spiritual symbols to ensure protection and blessings during the journey. Now, however, they dance alone in the light morning breeze, as if welcoming the new day.
The Andaman Sea glistens in the background, still and silver in this early light. A small island lies on the horizon, almost as if painted, a dark shadow in the distance. It is quiet. No engines, no voices - just the gentle sound of the sea and the occasional screech of a bird.
At this moment, the world seems to stop. Everything seems familiar and at the same time distant - a place between day and night, between movement and standstill. The boat waits, the day comes, and the sea reminds us that everything is constantly changing, just to be perfect for a moment.
