"In the light: Lantern with beautiful vein structure" is a photo of a beautiful lantern of the lantern plant (Physalis) that has already largely decayed. As a result, the beautiful vein structure of the lantern remains. The orange berry is also still present, although it too is already shrivelling up (which fits nicely with the vein structure). This picture has been cut to a square, so the lantern is central in this work. (Lanterns are one of my favourite subjects to photograph!)
This lantern stands with "its nose" is the light. This creates a nice shadow of the lantern on the ground. The lantern is on a wooden base, where you can see the annual rings of the wood running around.
When taking the photo, I chose a moderate depth of field. The focus is on the vein structure in front of the orange berry. Because of this depth of field, the sharpness gradually decreases as you look further back. This gives a sense of depth to the work. It also gives a more dreamy feel to the picture, because not everything is in focus. If you zoom in on the work, you can see this!
This picture can hang beautifully in the bedroom, study, waiting room or just above the dresser in the living room!
