About ‘In the first light of the Teide’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

In the first light of day, the Pico del Teide rises like an ancient guardian from the shadows of the night. The panorama opens up far to the east, where the sky awakens in delicate colours ranging from amber gold to cool blue. The slopes of the national park lie still, as if holding their breath, while the sun slowly rises above the horizon and bathes the volcanic landscape in a new, warm glow.
The flanks of the mountain, scarred by lava and time, glow a soft red, reminiscent of glowing coals. Every ridge, every gully seems to tell its own story for a moment - stories of fire, wind and silence. Down in the valley, the forest nestles against the old lava fields like a dark sea, as if seeking shelter in the shadow of the giant.
With each passing moment, the light spreads out further and the eternal calm of the heights turns into a silent promise: the beginning of a new day over Tenerife. It is a moment of pure clarity in which the island breathes and the world seems perfect for a blink of an eye - sheltered under the growing light of the rising sky.
