The drills (Mandrillus) are a genus from the African rainforests belonging to the Old World monkey family (Cercopithecidae). They are descended from savannah dwelling, baboon related monkeys. There are two species, the mandrill (Mandrillus sphinx) and the drill (Mandrillus leucophaeus). The mandrill is the second largest primate after the great apes. These animals are sometimes included in the genus of baboons (Papio) or mangabeys (Cercocebus).
