An Iceberg off the coast of Newfoundland. These icebergs contain ice of more than 10,000-year-old snow and water. They break off on the Greenland coast in spring and summer and then take a year to reach the Newfoundland coast. Because only 10 per cent is above the water, it is easy to see from above what ice is still underwater.
